Whilst pursuing the Doctor of Medicine (Internal Medicine) he attended Kings’ College London where he completed his Master of Science degree and attained the Fellowship in Diabetes and Endocrinology in 2003. He then completed his Doctor of Medicine (Internal Medicine) in 2004.

He has acted as consultant with the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) in the field of Diabetes and was a part of the team of physicians and specialists who worked to produce a manual for regional guidelines in the field of Diabetes for Primary Care.

He has been instrumental in training healthcare professionals across the Caribbean in the use of this manual. In April 2006 he was made a Fellow of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologist (FACE). In February 2007 he was appointed as the CEO of the Barbados Diabetes Foundation and he now serves as Consultant with The Maria Holder Diabetes Centre for the Caribbean.
